  It all comes down to the connecting of dots and here i am talking about it again ever after over 25 posts !Thanks again for all the readers and their encouragement and the mails and i hope to be more active in 2013 atleast !

Yes,Year 2012 marked end of an era in many ways .Be it passing of Yashji or the retirement of Sachin.

No one knows whats in store for the future but this year has been truly a mixed bag  for me atleast.

Miss those classes  and the college life  ! But all good things come to an end as they say ...It did in 2012.

Have grown up watching Yash Chopra films and seeing  Sachin batting ,Yashji taught us love and Sachin the passion and dedication .Who can forget the Sharjah Storm or the Deewar dialogue or even the complex storyline of Kabhi Kabhi .

Chandini was a hit viz Sridevi or Yash Chopra,somethings better remain unanswered .2012 also marked the return of Obama and NaMo.As i told in my previous blog FDI is still an issue and truely understood the impact it could have to an extent during an Immersion Training recently.

On a personal front management education  did help me indeed and so did some experiences .Thank all who have been with me during the course of my roller-coaster ride so far and wishing everyone a Marry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year .

Truly miss 2 people going forward Steve Jobs and Yash Chopra -2 different personalities ,2 Legends who lived differently but still caught the imagination of thousands.

2013 -Whats in store - "Discovery of self " would be an ongoing process for me atleast.

So let me end it by saying ...

Reflection of Life -ನೆನಪಿನ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ

Over 25 blogs and lot of masala ,philosophy and good number of hits and reviews ,and its time to write a new one !Here in this post i look at a totally different perspective and try to be as realistic as possible .

Still want to be the child  in the Kabuliwala of Tagore ,i think have lost that innocence.Tagore also made the child grew older there ,so nothing is permanent ,even in a story ...

This is how DVG had put it ...

                 To stray about and tire. To beg and feed oneself.

                 To brag and act in conceit. To simper and fawn.

Sometimes think can we lead life like P and L accounts what Hema madam taught  in Finance classes or with the focus on Positioning yourself as a brand as in Marketing !

Who am i  ?Does The behaviour of a mind depends on the attribute that dominates it,i will stop at this ...

Finished  reading "Parva" and "Annana Nenapu" and came to conclusion keep it simple ,lead "Life As It Is"

One thing have realised ,when in doubt connect to the Gandhian way of life.The happiness you get in giving is as unexplainable as life and death is and even Gandhi never preached but just practised it for the world to follow.

Nehru remarked that he had not seen any other nationalist movement like Gandhi’s, largely devoid of hatred,can our lives be like this ?Give it a thought...

Social Service  or the Joy of Giving week should not be a one off activity .Again this is my perspective

"Other People's Money " should not be our problem ,people who understand it ,give it a thought !

And would be more than happy if these lines come true,only fortunate ones have it

Amma ninna edeyaaLadalli gaaLakke sikka meenu... The Eternal Love of Mother - Reality Bites !

Its been quite a while since i last wrote .During this time  have managed to explore a bit  and add to my understanding of 3 Ontological Principles and Meta Physical Objects .Bhagavad Geeta is a routine .!So let me not get into it and just enjoy the essence i get each time i understand something new in it.


                   BR Lakshman Rao says "Amma ninna edeyaaLadalli gaaLakke sikka meenu" .He beautifully conveys how a child wants to break the shakles of affection and have a experience of the world.

Mothers love and affection is eternal and mutual and you cannot break away from it.So is the reality of life.


" ಬಾಳ ಹಳಿಯುವುದೇಕೆ ? ಗೋಳ ಕರೆವುವುದೇಕೆ ? " says DVG  in "Manthana".He is saying acquire the knowledge to understand the realities of life.Geeta says the same.We don't even know the reason for our birth and death and go on worrying about things that we assume to be the reasons .!Strange life i find it sometimes .That's when i go and take help from Upanishads.Question the basic reason for  existence ?

"When you give someone what he needs,which is well in excess of what he explicitly seeks " ,the person should behave with "Stitha Pragna " what we call steady mindedness.Its all about "Karma-Yoga ".Do your Karma ,be steady minded and be human .Quite simple ,lets not complicate things ,should we ?

If trying to understand life and what to do and what not to do itself is so complicated .Living it would  turn out be a even more.So lets make it simple !There is no Right or Wrong,beauty is in the eyes of the beholder .Lets look at the whole world as a beautiful world.Be kind and humble to  People around us


Does a mother talk bad about her child to others?So why should we .Lets live our life not rectifying others mistakes but our own and lets be the child in the mothers arm.

यादों की दुनियां में ...

" Chalo Dildar Chalo Chand Ke Paar  Chalo"  Rafi Saab and Lata rendering their voice to this classic song from the legendary film Pakeezah by Kamal Amrohi.
                                                Meena Kumariji obliged and this eventualy happened to be the last film of this Ever Green beauty.
                                   Lataji was also voice of Madhubala and another classic that i remember is Mohabbat Ki Jhooti Kahani- a Naushad's music and Shakeel Badayuni's lyrics again.Shakeel Badayuni has given Hindi cinema some of the best lyrics .
                                      We miss those classics-The Clash of Titans -Prithviraj Kapoor and Dilip Saab sequence in Mughal E Azam .Those were treat to watch.Who can forget the richness in Nazir Hussain Films ,the lost and found magical storylines of Manmohan Desai .
                                    Between all this there always used to be the Showman Raj Kappor films with the typical Raj Kapoor Touch ,be it Aaj ,Awara ,Sangam ...the list is endless.
                                     
Fnally let me end with Rajesh Khanna's Dialogue from Anand-A Hrishikesh Mukharji Film.

Girl Meets Boy- अजीब दास्ताँ है ये -Part 1

                                                   Introduction:
  I Always had this thought of connecting stories and being a great fan of reverse screen play,i have tried my best to bring about a connection in the various charecters i have introduced here.I have tried to connect thier present by going into their future .Every incident in the Part 1 has a reason which will be unvieled in the Part 2 which is the final Part .The incidents here are taken from real life and gives us a good understanding of how things shape out in our lives  and what aspect of control we can have on it.

I thank my very  good friend for giving  inputs to the story  .Especially this being the 25th Blog .Thanks for reading the previous ones guys .So no philosophy and management here,Pakka local  story.

                                       Mystry Begins   ...          Part 1

A mid aged lady from India in  Down town Chicago is enjoying her morning walk  with  music playing in her ipod  "आपके  नज़रों  ने  समझा  प्यार  के  काबिल  मुझे " suddenly encounters this guy from India coming in the opposite direction  .The guy gazes at the mid aged lady as if he knows her and passes by.
The lady starts thinking about this guy and moves on.
                                           Lets meet Reshma a typical South Indian Girl now settled in USA with her husband .Reshma is an extrovert ,highly talented ,intelligent Indian Women.Reshma finishes her household work and sits on the easy chair and starts sipping a cup of tea with music playing in the background .Reshma starts thinking of her good  old college days ...
                         "Even i want to be part of the music team " ,"and i am  sure we will win "... says Rahul to Reshma.
"This guy has lot of attitude ,i hate this guy ,he is very arrogant and i donot want him to be part of the music team " Reshma tells Meera .
Lets meet Meera a very close friend of Reshma and a very important charecter in this story .

"Let's have him,he sings very well.We will surely have a better chnce of winning the competition " Meera tells Reshma.
Reshma is the coordinator of the music competition and they have come for a University Festival and she agrees for Rahul to be part of the music competition .
They get qualified to the finals and win the competition and Rahul impresses everyone with his singing abilities ...
The University festival is over and Rahul and his friend Mrinal (native of a place in the border of Gujarat and Maharastra ) get into the Bus and they are supposed to go back Home the same day.Reshma and her friends also travel in the same bus .
Mrinal is an introvert and is son of a businessman and had come to the University festival to participate in a technical event .
                      As Rahul tries to start a conversation with Reshma and Meera ,Mrinal is sitting in a corner reading a novel.

The clock sounds 12 Pm  Reshma realises its time to prepare lunch as kids would be back any time soon .The calling bell rings  ...  Reshma now goes to the door and open the door  .There is a middle aged man standing and she feels she has seen him somewhere ,the man gives inivation for the Premier of a Film of Raj Malhotra in New York .Raj Malhotra is a very good friend of Reshma and is settled in California now and was an aspiring filmmaker in the early years .He is now an entrepreneur settled with his wife in USA.Reshma is very happy for Raj and tells the person she will definitely make it with her family to the premier .
               She calls Meera and asks if she is going to make it and tells her it can be a great reunion of old friends .
             Meera is now settled in India ,and Meera and her husband are supposed to be in New York around that time.Both agree to make it but are not sure who else are invited and would be there at the premier.

Reshma and Meera make it to the Priemier with their family and are surprised to see  Tina there.They wish each other .They take the special reserved seat that Raj had arranged for them ,Tina sits besides them and the film starts...
                                        There is a guy in the bus trying to start a  conversation with Reshma !Mrinal is sitting in the corner reading some book and now Reshma and Meera  ask each other did you know this ...

Raj had planned to make a film on their lives in the early years ,they sit back to watch the film  and Reshma now remembers who she saw during her morning walk .
                                   The Film continues with background music चलते  चलते  यूँही  कोई  मिल  गया  था playing in the Bus ....

A Passing Dream ...

A pleasant evening ,as i walk past my old school on a weekend,less traffic -an adorable weather  ,I remember those good old days .Those days of  fun and frolic ....,those fights ,those Physical Training Classes ,the 1 hour prayer in our school every day.It used to go on something like this "ಐಡು ಬೆರಳು ಕೂಡಿ ಒಂದು ಮುಷ್ಟಿಯು " and many more and finally Vande Mataram and Sare Jaha Se...We used to enjoy those days.And who can forget that "Cream Bun " we used to eat in the nearby bakery near our school in the evenings.It used to be 1 rupee at that time !

                 Things change ,life changes ,we change.But memories remain constant .I cannot change them ,might sound  a bit abstract ,but i am not talking about inception here.So what i learnt from these dreams ...

           "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.

Sometime i get a feeling that dreams are an unattainable reality ,because they do not have a vision and most importantly deadlines !

I love dreams though ,because i can do what ever i want,i can change things .I am the GOD here.

I have the power.I can  make every one around me happy.There are no constraints .Then again as i walk past the old school i remember the old friends ,those school days and suddenly i see my favourite English Teacher coming in front of me and its been ages i have not talked to him .I hear a voice from background ,its already 7 30 not going for office today?,My mom is calling ,i wake up and the monotony of life continues.

This is not the first time this has happened.Once i was talking to Lady Diana in my dream and it was interrupted the same way. !

I am not sure my dream never gets completed even in my dream.Till then waiting for that moment ...

By the way completed reading the  Biopic of Steve Jobs,great book .Must read and a good insight to fulfil your dreams .!

           And let me end it with a great saying from great man :

A True GentleMan in a GentleMen's Game

“Team in trouble? Whom do you turn to? Rahul Dravid!” ... Ian Chappell

This could be the greatest complement  Rahul Dravid has achieved in a long and illustrious career ,especially playing  aside other greats .Yes,there were many match winning or match saving  innings from his list of 36 hundreds but to earn this reputation is something special and even the greats would have unanimous opinion in this.
Here was a Gentleman who batted like a Gentleman .As goes the say "Nothing great will ever be achieved without great mean, and men are great only if they are determined to be so" here was a determined soldier who showed humility in his aggression and played the game the way it needs to be played.

 Legacy is left behind ,but the show goes on ... Life Moves on ...

Namma Bengaluru -The other side of the IT City

From VV Puram Avarekal mela  and Basavanagudi Kadlelkal mela to Vidyarthi Bhavan Dosa  and from once open a time  favourite hangout "Sriraj Kulfi " to Gullu's Bun Nippat Masala (Yummy it is )! ... Namma Bengaluru is not just IT but more than that.
                People still wait for the big releases ,Uppi's film still generate the same enthusiasm among his fans .Its been almost more than 20 years i think he has been around.Who can forget his trend setting direction in OM .YogRaj Bhatt has managed to capture the beats of the younger generation with his trend setting dialogues and movie making .Seriously hope he comes out of Ade Male, ade love failure stories !..I can co relate this to what Ravi Chandran and Hamsa Lekha did with Prema Loka in the the late 80's .
Ravi chandran Hamsalekha combo songs are still a huge hit with the younger lot .
                             Malleswaram Market still has the same crowd as earlier even though we have lot of Western Style  Malls  come up. The single screen theatres are still Housefull .!

 Namma Bengaluru has changed .Isn't it ?

Yes if you look at lyrics in songs of Kannada films yes this is the change :

Andu RN Jayagopal " Neera mele aleya ungura .... ... Manaselava nalla kottanalla Kenne Mele Muttinungura .."

Aamele Hamsalekha said " Premageema Janedooooooooo  Yella Mayavo Preamam sharanam gacchami Annabaradoooooooooooooo "

"Maragalanu suttodalla kaviteyanu geecho dalla " from SHhh ! film .(Upendra as a lyricist has given some meaningful songs like hoove hoove from H20)

Finally Nam Bhatru sigo barodanella lyrics madidru -hALE PATRE ,hale Kabna nu bidlilla !

But He brought Kannada audience back to theatres.We still wait for a Bhatru movie come.I am waiting for Suri's Anna Bond and Dark Knight Rises also !

Konegu bantappa "Namma Metro " ?ella areagu bandilla ,adu bere vishaya.

We see Dr Raj Kumar , Dr  VishnuVardhan ,Shankar Nag Photos when we travel around Bangalore .They have managed to stay in the hearts of people .

One thing i would not like to talk about is Vidhana Soudha and Politics.

We still manage to have audience gather wherever there is a program in "Malleshwaram Grounds " .Bangalore has grown beyond Malleshwaram ,Jayanagar ,Indranagar.Now days Bangalore starts from Marathalli (the Big IT co's have set up their offices there ) and goes upto Electronic City.

But these have come up in the last 10 years but the Old Baangalore still  manages to maintain its charm.

Ranga Shankara still manages to get good audience and people still read books of Kuvempu,Bendre ,Byrappa.

Puttana Kanagal films are still studied and folk songs are sung in IT companies cultural events and

Art Of Giving ... ನಮ್ ಜೀವನ !!!

                      " Zindagi Ek Safar hai Suhana ,Yaha Kal Kya Ho Kisne Jana !!! "

As i listen to my favourite "Hotel California " these thoughts come to my mind .Wanted to write an intelligent but still an affectionate one ,but  sarcasm is one thing i would like to avoid when i write on these kind of topics ,but  "ಹುಟ್ಟು  ಗುಣ  ಸುಟ್ರು  ಹೋಗೊಲ್ವಂತೆ " so here i start :P

                         Ab Toh Dhoondna Band Karo Aur Kuch Dene ki Socho ...

Anyways do it if you want to do it,but don't be forced to do it ...

 Coming back to the point which i never do ,but i am learning though ! so let me start in this way .

When i used to watch those films of  Annavru (Dr Rajkumar) like the "Bangarada Manusha " and " Kasturi Nivasa ") i realised that there is some kind of satisfaction you get when you give back to the society,.Yes ,it was a small effort from our  part when i and my friends tried to spend some time with orphanage kids and tried to do our bit this weekend.There is a satisfaction that it started at least now though in a small way !.An attempt in a right direction to start off i suppose ...

                             What exactly is "Giving ".?I remember the great Babylon sage lines here -"The reward of charity depends entirely upon the extent of the kindness in it."

Coming to the process of Giving ,is it sufficient.?No,people should be empowered to participate in the development process.And who more than Bill Gates and Warren  Buffet as examples can tell us better about this .These are legendary people who have taught us how to lead a "complete life " i.e how to be successful and also doing your bit to the society .

                                        Lets not get philosophical and just talk ,we need to start somewhere .

                I end with these lines of Mother Teresa :

"How to Think " ..Through Mahatma Gandhi and John F Kennedy

As i am sipping my filter coffee my mom gave on a Sunday morning ,i get these thoughts of what made those famous decisions get through and withstand the test of times .Thank God ,No case studies to work on today so time to write this blog  !.Decisions Like Gandhi saying 'no' to British violence in India,President Lincoln deciding a civil war was less bad than slavery,President Gorbatchov deciding glasnost was a good thing for the USSR and others.

I am taking 2 paths in this blog.One Gandhi's way of understanding things and  Keneddy's Decisions to be precise.

These were famous decisions coming from great people .Looks simple but the point i am going to make here is the process of thinking that these people cultivated in them over the years from my perspective.Being a great admirer of Gandhi and  Kennedy i would look at the topic through their examples .

 "Glory lies in the attempt to reach ones goal and not in reaching it " ...

                         How to think ?Remembering this will help us reach our goals .Its the attitude to think that is important.

Gandhi's these words "Man can never be a woman's equal in the spirit of selfless service with which nature has endowed her" clearly suggest that its our observations and trying to imbibe and inculcate in ourselves good things observed in others that would help us streamline the process of thinking .

Having Tolerance:

Tolerance means being willing to listen to others; it does not mean you have to agree with them or, after hearing their viewpoint, even take them seriously.The thought process of this willingness to listen will help us

grow in all aspects.Patience is different from Tolerance .Its a perspective definition which needs an deeper debate ,Probably some other time !

Now lets look at from Kennedy's Perspective :

     "A man may die,Nations may rise and fall,but ideas live on" .This is the positive approach which people admire him still for.

When Kennedy told this :

Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future...

Can anyone who follows this feel something missed out in life.Great Inspiration comes from Great People .

How can i forget this :

"Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction "

People say think smart ,there can be no better way than to think this way .

Finally i would like to lead my life this way
